Accommodation in Whitby at New Year can get a bit tight but there're usually plenty of (non-central heating!) holiday flats. Things happen in the Tap 'n' Spile (opposite the Railway Station). Endeavour and Black Horse should get some singing, too. New Year's Eve is in the Tap, but space may be limited.

El Tedo, if I am aloud to come, you will usually find me in that excellant beer boutique "The Endevoure" or singing a song or three - and a pint or twelve - in the "Black Horse" in the company of the venerable Ragged Tashed Philanthropissed.Always something going on there. Butlers Brasserie is indeed a truly fine venue and Mine Hosts (Rosie & John) are true supporters of Folk Music, if not there you may find Ossenflags and myself enscounced in the Equine Niger quaffing copious amounts of Black Nectar and giving forth with much vim and vigour, a pastime that is also encouraged by the landlord, whom I an supposed to be marrying in the New Year
