The wonderful Melstock band are at Cottingham Live on Saturday December 6th. Their Christas show promises to be amazing. Tickets are £8.00 each available by phoning 01482844543. It's going to be a special evening-and the support band will be pretty good too (bit of self promotion for me and Willa there!)

Is Cottingham over on your side of the hill .... somewhere near 'ull or Beverley

I'd like to see the Mellstock Band, I have one of their CDs which I play religiously (pun intended) every Christams to get me into the Christmas spirit...it's the only thing that succeeds! They make a lovely sound, to see them live would be a real treat.

If you are not within reach of Cottingham, another place to see the Mellstock Band is Wheaton Aston Village Hall in Staffordshire on Saturday November 22.
This one will be their Ghosts and Lovers show.
There will be mince pies and mulled wine, and it's all in support of Wheaton Aston Folk Festival.

And if you like the sound of the Mellstock Band but can't get to a gig, have a look at The New Scorpion Band's tour dates at www.new-scorpion-band.com You won't be disppointed. They are from a similar stable and are touring their Christmas show 'The Carnal & The Crane' throughout December. Tim Laycock, Brian Gulland (ex-Gryphon), Robin Jeffrey, Robert White and Sharon Lindo - five voices and at least 25 instruments
