Does anyone know anything about the Tommy Talker bands from the early 1900s in England? I did a web search but didn't come up with much. I'm pretty sure Tommy Talkers were a type of kazoo.

Humming: Use Google and put tommy talker in quotations. There's stuff there--lots. Yeah, the tommy talker was a kazoo. Good luck.

Les B is right , where are my manners - -Brucie & Amos, thanks much! I have sort of a special interest in kazoos & mirlitons.   I would also assume that Roger the Skiffler is interested in kazoos as well (maybe). Thanks again!

When I saw this thread I was going to mention that I recalled an article written some years back by Ronnie Wharton, but I see that Amos has already found a copy of it on-line.
Ronnie used to be one of the organisers of the Topic Folk Club in Bradford (West Yorks).
Quack!

(In bad Lauren Bacall impression:" You DO know how to kazoo, don't you? Just put it in your lips and hum.")
