Subject: RE: BS: Even better than best Nigerian Scam! From: JennyO Date: 16 Dec 03 - 10:56 PM Ooh, excellent (she said wiping tea off her keyboard). I still continue to get these pieces of literary BS. Lately I have been noticing somewhat of a religious flavour: From: Mrs Serena Jones PLEASE ENDEAVOUR TO USED IT FOR THE CHILDREN OF GOD. I am the above named person from Kuwait. I am married to Dr. Harry Jones who worked with Kuwait embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2000. We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christians.Since his death I decided not to re- marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of$8.6Million (Eight Million six hundred thousand U.S. Dollars) with one finance/security company in Amsterderm Holland. Presently, this money is still with the Security Company. Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next three months due to cancer problem. Though what disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to church or better still a christian individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct here in. I want a church that will use this fund to fund churches, orphanages and widows propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that Blessed is the hand that giveth. I took this decision because I don?t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don?t want my husband´s hard earned money to be misused by unbelievers. I don?t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly manner. Hence the reason for taking this bold decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace. I don?t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health and because of the presence of my husband?s relatives around me always. I don?t want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Finance/Security Company in Amsterderm Holland . I will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the original- beneficiary of this fund. I want you and the church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life. Any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing for a church or christian individual for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein. Hoping to hearing from you. N.B- PLEASE I WILL ADVICE YOU TO GIVE THE LAWYER IN CHARGE A CALL IN HOLLAND IMMEDIATELY, HE DOES EVERYTHING ON MY BEHALF AND HE IS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND I BELIEVE HE WILL LEAD YOU TO YOUR SUCCESS IN JESUS NAME, THE LAWYER'S NAME IS ADVOCATEN VAN BOSCH,PHONE NUMBER IS 0031-620-794-311. Subject: RE: Nigerian Scammers not on the Uppity Up... From: Amos Date: 16 Dec 03 - 09:11 PM Con promises slick inheritance Tue Dec 16, 6:32 AM ET LONDON (Reuters) - A pharmacy in Scotland is suffering from a bad case of mistaken identity. Unsuspecting victims from around the world are descending on the chemists shop in Thurso, Caithness, believing it to be a bank they were duped into paying thousands of pounds. Each was told they would inherit an oil company in return for an upfront fee to be paid into an account at the Continental Trust Bank -- but the bank does not exist and the address given was that of Sutherland's the chemists. "The address is a chemist shop...It is a bona fide operating pharmacy," Detective Superintendent Gordon Urquhart of Caithness Police said on Tuesday. Pharmacy manager Andrew Paterson said people as far afield as Norway and New Zealand were calling in to demand their money back. "We had a Mediterranean couple come in looking for a bank," Paterson told BBC Radio 4's Today programme. "After a while we suggested maybe they should go round to the police. They did seem a little upset about it." Arlen Hughes, from Wyoming in the United States, was told he would inherit $41 million (23 million pounds) if he paid $57,000 up front. "I received a call from a fella in Nigeria saying that I had inherited an oil company," he told Today. "They were very professional." "I found a registered number in Scotland and so the researches I had found led me to believe they were on the uppity up." Not as uppity up as you hoped, obviously... A |

Subject: RE: BS: Even better than best Nigerian Scam! From: Murray MacLeod Date: 18 Nov 03 - 03:34 AM LadyJean, your disingenuousness does you credit, but none of these things will have the slightest effect. The best way to deal with the scammers is to waste their time. I tell them I am a rich businessman who is eager to help them and that I will be flying out on a specified date, bringing some thousands of dollars with me to tide them over. All they have to do is book me in the local Sheraton Hotel for the night. (More good timewasting advice in the link above in the first post) |
Subject: RE: BS: Even better than best Nigerian Scam! From: LadyJean Date: 18 Nov 03 - 01:03 AM When I started getting them, I responded with, "You just sent a fraudulent email to Judge Martin's granddaughter, don't you feel foolish." My grandfather was a judge. He died before I was born. But they didn't need to know this. They were unimpressed by judges. So I tried telling them I was married to a gangster, a bald faced lie. That didn't work either. No luck with an invented uncle who worked for the state department. Of late, I've been trying a mythical male relation who works for interpol. I also forward them to the treasury address. I wonder what they do with them. |

I am seeking your assistance to enable me transfer the sum of 73,702,500,000.00 Zambian Kwacha into your private/company account. The fund came about as a result of a contract awarded and executed for and on behalf of my Ministry. The contract was supposed to be awarded to two foreign contractors to clean up deposit bottles throughout Zambia. The contract was awarded to a Bulgarian contractor and at the close of their contract we realized a profit of 73,702,500,000.00 Zambian Kwacha to my benefit unknown to the contractor. This contract has been satisfactorily executed and inspected as the Bulgarian firm is presently securing payment from my Ministry, where our Board is in-charge of all foreign contract payment approval. As a civil servant I want to share this wealth with you, a person who I don't know and have never met. My family keeps saying "Fly the country and let us live in some nice place like Newark or Ballyfungus, somewher where 73,702,500,000.00 Zambian Kwacha still commands some respect." But I am in active government service, I am forbidden by law to operate a scam outside the shores of Zambia. Hence this message to you seeking your assistance so as to enable me present your private/company account details as a beneficiary of contractual claims alongside that of the Bulgarian contractor, to enable me transfer the difference of 73,702,500,000.00 Zambian Kwacha into your provided account. On actualization, the fund will be disbursed as stated below. 0% for you and 100% for us, plus whatever we can convince you to send.
