The FIREANTS play dance music of the Americas focusing on creolization. A mixture of European and African roots - Cajun/Zydeco, Conjunto, Cumbia and Vallenato, Calypso, Frolic - polkas, two steps, waltzes, boleros, huapongos and chotises. Playing a mix of traditional and original songs, the FIREANTS goal is to help create a community in which all take part." Their influences include Cajun, Conjunto from Texas, Black String music fromNorth Carolina, regional music from Mexico, Columbia, and the Caribbean Islands. Mostly in Spanish, but some 'Spanglish' I think. Hard to tell....
