Subject: BS: Amazing fake R. Fielding rockumentary! From: Little Hawk Date: 18 Nov 03 - 11:25 PM Got my hot little hands on a shocking piece of film footage, purporting to be a documentary of a legendary Rick Fielding concert in Blind River, Ontario, sometime in the early 80's. It certainly looks like Rick Fielding, and it's definitely in Blind River...you can tell by the audience. In a desperate attempt to ward off the infuriated crowd, who are throwing beer bottles and other objects, chanting "Oz-zie! Oz-zie! Oz-zie!", and rushing the stage, Fielding finally rips off all his clothing and performs "House of the Rising Sun" stark naked onstage, covered only by a Martin Guitar. The place goes nuts! They won't let him off the stage, so he playes the solo from "Stairway to Heaven", and they go nuts again. He then turns around and moons the crowd while making a fast escape out the back door to his van. Total pandemonium!!! That's when I knew it was faked. Rick Fielding does not have "Mother Never Loved Me!" tattooed on his buttocks. - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing fake R. Fielding rockumentary! From: Cluin Date: 19 Nov 03 - 12:30 AM It has to be a fake. They didn't allow cameras in Blind River in the early 80s. The Blindriverians believed taking your picture would steal your soul. |

Even before that. I diont never see that concert LH was talkin about but it sounmds like I missed a good one eh? I know about this Fielding guy. He dont exactly rock...but hes' okay eh? He can like play not half bad and I would consider to have him in a band if I had one and he could do the quiet parts in between eh? Girls go for the quiet parts. It turns em on. Trust me. Guys go for the LOUD parts! Some girls like the LOUD stuff too cos they like to rock. I go fopr them kind in a big way. I wish I'd of seen that show...even if it was an impoaster. i would sell my soul on a dime if I could have all the beer I wanted for the rest of my life...but the devil ain't made me the offer yet eh? - BDiBR |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing fake R. Fielding rockumentary! From: Rick Fielding Date: 19 Nov 03 - 01:43 PM Actually I WAS the subject of a Canadian documentary about a year ago. A camera crew followed me around to a bunch of gigs and then spent about 6 hours in my basement asking questions. Unfortunately rather than holding a guitar or banjo while I was pontificating I had the damn UKELELE in my hands. Felt like George Formby without the accent! I have actually PLAYED in Blind River! Subject: RE: BS: Amazing fake R. Fielding rockumentary! From: Little Hawk Date: 19 Nov 03 - 10:30 PM Anyone who's played Blind River has definitely paid his dues. Raptor and I have been trying to set up Clinton Hammond to play Blind River on the upcoming Clinton Hammond World Tour, but he won't commit himself. Maybe he's not as tough as he makes out... :-) - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing fake R. Fielding rockumentary! From: Little Hawk Date: 19 Nov 03 - 11:34 PM Blind River is a depressing little town on the Trans-Canada Highway, in the wilds of North Ontario. It's west of Sudbury, which is a depressing big city. It's a good place to go if you want to "drink and cruise for skanks", according to Shane (AKA "Blind DRunk in Blind River). The chief activities in Blind River are: drinking watching TV drinking sleeping drinking racing snowmobiles over frozen waterways (while drinking) hunting (mostly drinking) fishing (almost entirely drinking) playing bingo getting stoned making more little Blind Riverites and drinking oh, and smoking too... |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing fake R. Fielding rockumentary! From: Cluin Date: 20 Nov 03 - 12:01 AM I've played Blind River. If I've paid my dues, why do they keep sending me nasty letters? |
