Just a note to inform you all taht my impending World Tour of the antipodes and US is going to have to be delayed. This is due to a. dosh from my 'oral history' project from ASLEF being delayed (this was paying most of it) plus I've just found out that my boss is leaving in January so I may be a/ holding the fort or b/ be promoted and running the show !! So I may have to do Oz next year

Perhaps we could have whip-round for the fare from UK Mudcatters - just the out-bound bit. Mind you it probably wouldn't be long until the antipodean 'catters had another collection - to send you back. It's a good thing you didn't include yourself in the category of "British Gentlemen" because your seeming attack on Blackcatter would bely that. I read that Blackcatter was just having fun with your use of slang. I doubt if any disrespect was intended. Mudcatters have long ribbed each other about regional differneces. Unfortunately your response was just plain mean.

If that's the way you normally treat people, I wouldn't feel safe riding around with your driver, if I were you.

I made the mistake of asking bus driver if he was bound for Dungwoth and about 20 minutes later he stopped talking and sort of they were not. So I hopped on the Holmfirth bus and went to Worral whence I met up with Sir Kenneth and Derbyshire Susan. A good sing was had by all but I shall be at my normal spot (if that's allowed Dave) next week.

The hologram is always welcome - and it was clear (having walked up and arriving before the bus would have done) that there was no bus. However it was a great sing and all were on the best of form. But it was crowded, despite the space vacated by your goodself.
