Subject: Hull / Whitby Folk From: GUEST,White Dove Date: 02 Dec 03 - 06:55 AM Is it too early to wish all my mudcatty friends a Happy Christmas? It hit me like a brick arriving at this Whitby Wonderland from the dark and dreamy canal life I just left behind for the winter. I expected it to be wild, windy and desolate but its lovely...so different from the Folk Week and different kind of 'busy time'. The sunday night session at the Tap is still going strong. Great to see familiar faces all in good voice :-) I arrived here this week and am now running Kickas Place on Church Street. I am here for three months so please let all and sundreee know that rooms are available at very reasonable prices. Eeek got to log off...library time up. Will be popping over to Hull soon..let mee know wots on ok!!! Roz X |
Subject: RE: Hull / Whitby Folk From: Raggytash Date: 02 Dec 03 - 07:28 AM Hi Roz, No long no see, This Sunday there is a session at the Monks Walk Beverley with Ossenflags leading the proceeding. H opefully me and Wombat will be spending the New Year in Whitby, got to wait for our invite to share yet, but if not will probably come over in B&B on New Years Eve, I' presume that Kikas place will be fully booked by then, and if push comes to shove we can always bed down in the caravan although the facilities on site will be locked. It's warm and dry at least. So if we don't see you on Sunday we'll catch up with you in Whitby Cheers Raggy |
Subject: RE: Hull / Whitby Folk From: Raggytash Date: 02 Dec 03 - 07:30 AM Should also have said that Butlers Brasserie and Beer Boutique often has a cracker of a session on a Saturday night and Steve in the Equine Negris is also partial to a bit of a strum |

I seem to recall we had a good time. All are fit and well and Derek still hasn't learnt any new chords! Russ & Ali sound great together, Russ gets better and better on Guitar and Ali is a wonderful singer, her version of Green Grow the Rushes is awesome Still not sure were we are staying over New Year or for how long, but hopefully we'll run in to you sometime, can't send you a pm with mobile number as you're signing in as a guest |
