I sure many people will be upset at the loss of Lal Waterson - Member of 'The Watersons' - Sister of Norma and Mike - sister-in-law of Martin Carthy and aunt to Eliza Carthy.

It was with great sadness we heard of her untimely death whilst attending The Fylde Folk Festival at Fleetwood, England. Eliza Carthy was to attend the concert but had to call off due to the loss of her aunt.

Lal Waterson died on 4th September 1998 and her death will be a great loss to the Folk Scene.

Our sympathy goes to her family and friends,
