Susette and I are in San Franciso for a few days, and evenings are free for the most part. We'd love to get together with mudcatters in the area.

We are also intereted in music events, singarounds, jams, etc. Please help us get some folk music into our visit and make a few new mudcatter friends.

Hi Fortunato -- I live 40 miles north of SF but don't plan to go to The City this weekend. There's a Scots/Irish session on Sunday in my neighborhood, in the town of Cotati, Sonoma County. If that's your thing and you have wheels, you might consider it.

I'm surprised that none of our Bay Area members have responded: Chanteyranger, Radriano, Dave Swan... you might try PMs. I think there's a session at the Starry Plough in Berkeley on Sunday, but I'm not sure.

Well,

We didn't make the Berkeley session, alas. But Dave Swan sent us to to Tommaso's in North Beach and it was a treasure. A neat and trim, almost ship like dining area, with murals and wine bottles carefully placed. Wonderful food and a glass of wine. It is a treasure.

I'll ride the Oakland Ferry today to meet Dave.

I had a great lunch and an excellent pint of beer with Dave Swan and his wife Pam today in Oakland. I missed the boat. Literally. I missed the return ferry just chatting away about music that lovely couple.

It's been fun. I've got CDs of Oak Ash & Thorn and Kammen & Swan to travel home with.

did they tell you that people in san francisco never call "it" frisco?
it is a poetic term used in some songs, but usually not by the residents
of the "BayArea" There is a small town in the mountains of colorado called Frisco, though. Glad you got to meet, greet, and eat! Laruel

We had a wonderful time with Chance. Once again the Mudcat phenomenon of "old friends you just hadn't met yet" held true. We could have talked for hours and pints more. Chance is a warm and generous man. We look forward to more time together. Thanks for lunch pal!

Drat, I missed all the fun. I only have access to the internet at work and all last week I was stuck manning a booth for the California Geological Survey at the annual American Geophysical Union Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. I didn't even see this thread until this morning (12/16).
