Subject: RE: Lyr Req/Add: County Down (Tommy Sands) From: michaelr Date: 21 Mar 18 - 10:46 PM Muireann is Ireland's finest singer now, IMO. Heads and shoulders above those wispy, girly voices so popular. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req/Add: County Down (Tommy Sands) From: Gabriel Date: 19 Mar 18 - 10:30 AM The words above are not quite right above. In the chorus the last line is "Come on home to the County Down." i.e. there is no 'now' in it. In the final verse, the first line is, "I'm always dreaming that things are changing," i.e. 'dreaming' not 'thinking'. |

Subject: RE: Req/Add: County Down (Tommy Sands) From: GUEST,Steve Colby Date: 22 Jan 11 - 07:26 PM Sorry about the alignment of the chords. Move the whole chord line so the last chord is over the last word and it should work... |

Subject: Lyr Add: COUNTY DOWN (Tommy Sands) From: Lin in Kansas Date: 21 May 04 - 10:11 PM Lyrics posted by Guest, Sandra in this thread. There are several other Tommy Sands songs there, too. Enjoy! Lin COUNTY DOWN (Tommy Sands) When you're out walking, and there's no one near you, But a voice keeps calling and you hear your name, It's not the leaves or the whispering breezes. It's me that's calling you back again. CHORUS: Oh can you hear me? Oh can you hear me As you roam through lonely London town? When evening's falling you'll hear me calling, "Come on home now to the County Down." Do you remember the fiddlers playing, The songs and stories the whole night long? 'Tis little then that you thought of leaving. It seems so strange now that you are gone. (CHORUS) The fish are dancing on Clanrye River. The teams are sporting in old Glenvale. My heart no longer can lead the cheering. When you're not playing, it's a different game. (CHORUS) I'm always thinking that things are changing, And that they're building a factory tall, And young ones needed again in Newry, But I still need you the most of all. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: co.down (song) by Danu From: michaelr Date: 17 Dec 03 - 08:42 PM The liner notes say "It was written by the great singer/songwriter Tommy Sands from Rostrevor in Co. Down". I suggest buying the CD, kilshannig -- it has the printed lyrics. Cheers, Michael |
