Subject: Lyr Req: mulligatawny soup From: GUEST,JonF Date: 23 Dec 03 - 03:41 AM My grandmother used to sing a song which began: "Mulligatawny soup is nice" but I can't remember anything else My mother, who I think was messing around used to sing: Mulligatawny soup is nice Especially when it's mixed with amonia Paddington baths, I learned to swim On my back and sucking a peppermint. Does anyone know the actual lyrics? Jon |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: mulligatawny soup From: Snuffy Date: 25 Dec 03 - 04:50 AM I vaguely remember a British comedian (Richard Murdoch?) used to do nonsense patter-songs like this to well known tunes. I can hear the tune for this in my head, but can't identify it. I googled for "Paddington baths", and "sucking a peppermint" but with no luck, I'm afraid |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: mulligatawny soup From: Snuffy Date: 04 Feb 10 - 03:34 AM One verse started "Barrington Dalby said to me" and the next line may have been something like "The other day while sucking a peppermint" |
