Has anyone any knowledge of a Scottish singer called Jim Reid(I hope I am spelling it right). He sings "Bogie's Bonny Belle" very well on a tape I have. Our festival wants to contact him, but I can't find out where he lives.

He's not in the Scottish Folk Directory - very strange ... Maybe if you contact them they'll still be able to help.

Alasdair...Jim Reid has used the poems of Violet Jacob, and set them to music to great effect. His most famous song is "the wild geese" or "the Norland wind". This song is a real tear jerker, I think the tune is related to "Bogies Bonny Belle".
Violet Jacobs poetry can be found on Google.(Sorry cant work the link......Genetic problems)....Best Wishes Ake

He has some great songs: I have 2 of his CDs, the more recent (2001) being Emfae Dundee (I'm from Dundee) on which he plays all the backing instruments himself (some multi-tracking going on I think!)
He calls himself "Greylag Music" (reference to the geese!)
Try; Greylag Music, 1A Auldbar Road, Letham, Angus, DD8 2PD
Or ............should you be in the Edinburgh area on 30th march, we've got him for our Folk Night in Balerno Bowling Club (8p.m. onwards) PM me for more details.

Jim Reid was a guest on Robbie Shepherd's Radio Scotland show, this afternoon - it's available on the 'listen again' page.
