Hi,
I was recently at a jam where Greasy Coat was played on the fiddle and I commented that I'd heard there were also words to this tune. So, I'm trying to find a reasonably accurate set of words for this tune for folks to sing, but haven't found any on the web. If anyone can correct, add to, or otherwise enhance what I've got so far, I'd be very grateful:

I don't drink and I don't smoke
And I don't go for the greasy coat.
I don't smoke and I don't chew
And I don't go for them that do.

When I ride my house to town,
I see that man in a greasy gown,
Preaching and praying and singing so fine.
I see that pastor abiding his time.

It has been suggested that greasy coat refers to a Confederate soldiers greasy, well-worn coat. Any other ideas?

My WV sources say that a "greasy coat" is a condom.
