I usually use the American Tunefinder site to get the dots for celtic (Irish)tunes, but it is less than comprehensive for Scottish tunes. Can anyone recommend somewhere for this ?

The two that I use are:
www.viperpiper.hypermart.net/search.html
www.lochaber.tullochgorm.com/~jc/music/abc/findtune.html

The viper piper site has links to other sites that have scottish music on them.

Hi Pipes,

http://www.thesession.org/index.php

http://dreamspinner.freeservers.com/bardbook.html

Try these sites. I couldn't get the other two to connect.

Don

A friend just recommended this to me:

The best collection on the web right now for "current" settings of session
tunes is Henrik Norbeck's collection, .

But it is ABC so I haven't really tried to use it yet. But it has LOTS of tunes.

One of my favourite tune sites on the web is
The Contemplator

Look for Barry Taylor's Tunebook section and then you can use the drop-down menu to choose the Scottish tunes. Barry's arrangements can be spine-tinglingly (Hmm! Just invented a new word, perhaps?) beautiful.

Hi!
You can find some new tunes at smallpiper.co.uk
(It's not the site of Mudcats Smallpiper, sorry it's confusing!)

You can get to the tunes page directly by Clicking Here

Hope that's ok! (Not meant to be a plug!!!!)
:-))
Vicki
