Subject: Andean Folk: Pascua Linda From: JohnOttoCleese Date: 03 Jan 04 - 10:07 AM Hi all referred here by folkinfo.org I wonder if anyone can help? "Greetings all, A bit off the beaten track and, I fear, probably not a question anyone can answer, but it's worth a go Has anyone ever heard of the Andean song, Pascua Linda? I'm trying to find chords/notes for it as I'm finding it hard working out the chords for this one... :-( Any links? forums?" Thanks in anticipation James Denny |
Subject: RE: Andean Folk: Pascua Linda From: katlaughing Date: 03 Jan 04 - 11:32 AM I found one site which lists it as Bolivian. It sounds like a beautiful song, judging by the audio file I found (though a little over-produced): click here. That site has a lot of audio files by many different artists: click here. Good luck and welcome to the Mudcat. kat |
Subject: RE: Andean Folk: Pascua Linda From: JohnOttoCleese Date: 04 Jan 04 - 11:33 AM well, the peruvians think it's peruvian and the bolivians think it's bolivian! it's a lot of the same over there :-) thanks for the welcome. i would agree that rumillatjta (the band that plays it usually ... and i expect it was that one you got - they are bolivian) can get a bit over-produced... cheers james |

Subject: RE: Andean Folk: Pascua Linda -notes & chords? From: keberoxu Date: 08 Nov 15 - 12:50 PM Don't know about visual notation for Pascua Linda. Just want to point out -- James Denny probably knows this -- that Pascua Linda is a staple of Inti-Illimani repertoire. This instrumental, recorded by the Inti, was featured on the "Return of the Condor" album (BBC, I believe). It can also be found on these two Inti-Illimani albums: Canto de Pueblos Andinos Imagination/Imaginacion and maybe those two productions have resulted in some documentation of this very catchy music. I can hear it in my head right now, complete with Horacio Duran's charango. |
