Sunday January 4, eleventh night session at the Rose and Crown, St Michael's Street from 8pm. All welcome
Sunday January 11, workshop and concert with John Kirkpatrick.

No one in Hertfordshire has to unknowingly put up with a folk club next door to a bell ringing practice. All you need to do is a cross check between the listings in the Unicorn Folk Magazine and the table of practice nights on the web site of the Hertford County Association of Change Ringers www.hcacr.org.uk This shows immediately that if you want to visit a Friday pub, the practice night at St Stephen's St Albans is across the road from the King Harry pub, but the Baldock and Letchworth Folk club is either in Baldock where bell ringing practice is on a Wednesday or in Letchworth which is deprived of the noble art and science of bell ringing ... as well as pubs, it seems.

So the informed choice is yours.

bugger it, now how does it go! the new set of lyrics will follow shortly so I'm informed.

The neighbours arent happy

and the art and science of punctuality is beyond the bounds of ringers.
They find the keeping of good time a challenge!

Sorry to hear that you don't get on with bell ringers.
You must realise that they have been doing their thing at that place far longer than you have. They are also exercising a traditional pastime of the English nation.
Don't knock it.I'm a bell ringer too!

House prices must be low in that part of town

No bell ringers for my next wedding then, thats it, done finished , banish them all to the country any country.

When I stayed at The Bell in Launceston after a saturday night gig I was awoken to the bells of the church.

I suppose I'm sufferring from a reaction to that experience.

Cant you wear headphones like proper musicians out of consideration for those trying to watch neighbours!

I draw no parallels yet with Melodeon players.

So you havent yet heard Mike Spark's song that has imortalised the experience.

At least we cant hear them in the King Harry

"Run Of The Mill" That is Alan and Jenny from The Blue Anchor Sing A Rounds in St Albans, are playing at The Rose and Crown on Sunday night. 8.00pm til 10.30pm. And as the advert says "Simple but Classey Folk" This is one of the excellent Alison Macfarlane's Second Sunday Sessions. Performers welcome. And on Monday, it's a Sing a Round at The Bull In Barton le Clay Beds.

But there is always a choice!
You could come to the Legion first Martin, do your floor spot as it starts earlier, 8.00 8.12 8.25 do you? and still catch Jenny and Alan. then you'll have earned your 2nd credit and time is running out before copy date for next term.
