Subject: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 05 Jan 04 - 08:05 AM Just to let you all know I'm 50 this year and in the tradition of the Queen I am to have a number of celebrations. Having already celebrated my 49 3/4's in November, I will now be celebrating at Fagans (Sheffield) on Sunday afternoon February 22nd with music and eatable galore !! My proper birfday is Tuesday 24th but I have been 'persuaded' by the Lady Aefleda and others to have an 'official' birfday bash in Whitby 28th and 29th Feb working on the premise that folks can find accomodation betterer in Whitby rather than Sheffield. All are heartily invited to the tap & Spile for much merriment. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Beardy Date: 05 Jan 04 - 11:11 AM Will we be booking same cottage as New Year? For night of 28th onwards? If booking for Friday 27 prices are extra 50%, ie £380 rather than £260. Give me a ring to discuss. Stewart |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: ossonflags Date: 05 Jan 04 - 12:16 PM It looks like "Punch the Horse" will be playing in whitby about that time. Will let you know when. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Tyke Date: 05 Jan 04 - 04:29 PM Can anyone tell me how old this thread is? I think I might need to up date my Modem! |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Beardy Date: 05 Jan 04 - 06:15 PM Further to earlier post those were the weekly rates to be adjusted for weekend but there is still a large discrepancy. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Dave Bryant Date: 06 Jan 04 - 04:55 AM Do holograms actually celebrate birthdays then ? If they did, I would expect the aniversaries to be based on perfect binary numbers. Hope you have a good time time Jim - perhaps you'll have to try and make it down south to my BBQ in June, when I shall be celebrating qualifying for a bus pass ! |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 06 Jan 04 - 07:53 AM When in June Dave ? |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 06 Jan 04 - 08:47 AM At the sesh last night I told folks of muy 'official' birfday at Whitby and it was suggested I, like the Quenn, have a 'Birfday Honours List' |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Raggytash Date: 06 Jan 04 - 11:29 AM My Leige, It just so happens that my good lady Wombat Matilda de Raggytash of Kirklees and myself will have to visit our outer provinces at the time of your celebrations. Thus we look forward to joining in the festivities in the Equine Niger or perhaps Butlers Brasserie and Beer Boutique |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: gnomad Date: 06 Jan 04 - 03:19 PM Should I warn the press? I reckon the Whitby Gusset might want to cover this one, Course they might also warn the fuzz. What say you milord? |

Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Dave Bryant Date: 07 Jan 04 - 05:36 AM Jim - We're currently planning it for Sunday the 6th June - my actual birfday isn't until the 15th, but we will be at festivals on the two following weekends. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Raggytash Date: 07 Jan 04 - 06:32 AM James dear boy, I fear we are missing a glorious opportunity, we need to follow Lloyd George on this occasion and sell the honours ! I put "we" my Leige because you will obviously need assistance in this endeavour and as always I am you faithful and loyal second |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 07 Jan 04 - 06:41 AM Do you mean a 'minger' for an honour. Or in coc-en-knee slanf ' A Deep Sea Diver for a Thong' |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Dave Bryant Date: 07 Jan 04 - 09:32 AM Raggy - you may only be McFat's second, but you're definitely numero uno when it comes to arse-licking ! |

Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Raggytash Date: 08 Jan 04 - 05:52 AM Jim Are you aware if I have upset the Dirty Old Git, he keeps having a dig at me on various threads and if I have upset him I want to try and recall how I did it so I can do it again properly. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Big Bird Date: 09 Jan 04 - 09:35 AM News has travelled to the depths of the South East, where the trusty Kentonians (!?) are already planning the long and arduous journey to Whitby for this auspicious ocassion/occassion/ event. Watch out for a phone call from pater, MC Fat! |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: The DeanMeister Date: 09 Jan 04 - 09:59 AM Can I come? I promise to be a good boy.... On the other hand I might invent an unlikely story involving missed taxi's and cancelled trains to explain my absence from the event. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: GUEST,Lady Aelfleda Date: 09 Jan 04 - 02:45 PM Great idea to have an Honours List - do they have to earn it (eg: services as Whitby landladies (not those kinds of services); longstanding services to folk music (no - too boring); worst singer of the weekend; best present for Jim; who can drink the most brandy - the list could be endless really couldn't it? |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 12 Jan 04 - 06:18 AM Sorry have been absent, been a poorly boy. The honours list you have first suggested sounds good can add Worst Rendition of Fields of Athenry/Ride On, already have a candidate for Worst Folk Festival in Otley. Need some addresses for accomodation for Big Bird and Campervan !! |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: brid widder Date: 12 Jan 04 - 12:32 PM Give us a call some time soon Jim... if we are to book accomodation for us all we need to know who's coming... will you share a bilet with the Chesterfield sheep shagger... or do you have other plans? |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Dave Bryant Date: 12 Jan 04 - 12:46 PM It's OK Raggy - I'm only kidding - we southerners can't let you northerners have things all your own way. :-) After all, I'm rude to McFat on a matter of principle (we older gits have to stick together) and if you're going to support him to the extent of a brown tongue - a bit more Sh*t in your direction isn't going to make much difference ! |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Les from Hull Date: 12 Jan 04 - 01:33 PM Sorry Jim, but The Fragrant Maggie and I will be out of the country. |

Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: The DeanMeister Date: 26 Feb 04 - 03:37 AM Initial indications are that you may well get snowed in at Whitby this weekend, chaps. You may have to extend the celebrations. Ever tried getting up Blue Bank in the snow...?? |
Subject: RE: MC Fat 'Official' 50 Birfday From: Folkiedave Date: 26 Feb 04 - 06:50 AM There are those who are looking forward to the snow being snowed in. For those with reasonable disposable income I would like to recommend the Sandbeck Hotel, about £30.00 per head for B and B so, slightly over the general price, and well worth it. Ken and Sue Dyson. Regards, Dave |
