Interested that its totally Hip software.... so hip its in code...

Still cant make weekend. Daughter n partner coming for weekend. They are talking of formal wedding and looking at venues! Suggested a ladder and a ticket to Gretna Green!

Mad dog does cats tho... hes people friendly but doesnt go a bundle on other furry creatures. My friend says hed make a good ratter! I beg to differ. Hes just shredded the fouton n ate bits of it... it was old... and it will come out the other end soon ! so hes back sleeping in his plastic dog bed.

Heaven knows what hed be like if the vet hadnt removed a couple of items of his anatomy! He came like that when I adopted him.... well he does class as a pitbull ( woops freudian slip I meant to say staffie)

Fav watering hole still full of mud after floods. Come to the Jackfield Festival end of August its held near Boat Inn. It should be dry by then

Have a good time.

Handfasting is also one of the rituals adopted by the early church from pre christian ceremonies and in many churches the priest or vicar will still wrap his stole around the hands of the couple and say 'those whom god has joined' etc. This has also given rise to the term tying the knot as a euphimism for marriage. In the days when not every village had a church travelling priests would call round every few months. Couples wishing to get married in the meantime would 'tie the knot' and then jump over a broom - hence the expression 'living over the brush' referring to couples living together but not married. It all sounds like a jolly good excuse for a great weekend - Valentine's day too you old romantics! Can't wait - see you around six hopefully on friday.
Jane

GUEST a Handfasting is a Pagan Wedding Ceremony where the hands are of the couple are tied symbolicaly before the God and the Goddess. The God and the Goddess are invited to give their blessing on the union which is either for a life time or because we believe in reincarnation for eturnity. The ceremony is normally conducted by a High Priest and a High Priestess where a circle is cast and the quaters (elements) are called. It is a very beautiful ceremony and the energy raised is amazing!

Tiggy, dear, you are not making yourself popular in this part of E.London!

Tyke - if anyone should ever introduce us remind me to thump you one! ;) Excuses indeed, some of us simply can't make it, y'know. It may be an abomination, but it's not a crime. I, for one, shall be stuck in work & not at all happy about it, for more than two reasons.

Have fun, I shall be moderately miserable wishing I was in furry parts...

Main reason I won't be there is my band is gigging at a Valentine's Ceilidh in Hawsker Village Hall. Free admission, so if you can't make it up as far as Guisborough you've another option. Faith Supper (bring summat to eat & drink). For fun not profit!

You're right Tyke, Tuppy doesn't do dogs. Carol & Minn, your bedroom has been totally (T's & L's in the wrong place?) refurbished.

Friday:-
The Folk Club starts at 20:00 until we decide we have had enough.

Saturday:-
We still haven't finalized (spelling for our colonial freinds) but you can be assured that sessions and loonacy will prevail with a Barbie in the evening.

Sunday:-
       Survivours sessions with our usual
music quiz in the evening.

Lokking forward to seeing you all

Fliss help with training your dog is on tap at the Guisborough gathering Magician & Gillie have a cat that will ensure your dog sits quietly in a corner. There are no excuses for not being in North Yorkshire on the 14th of Feburary. Just because you think your boat is about to sink in soggy Shropshire is not a reson for you not to be in Sunny Guisborough. It is a good reason for you to be in Guisbough! If you want to drown! best do it in some good beer or send money and we will dive further into the barel for you singing your favorite song as we do so. Get a Train, Car, Bus or a plane the Airport is not that far away!

Come on what's with the excuses? Get you over to the Mudcat mini Gathering! Great Beer, Great Music, Wonderful Pub, Mudcater's are the Licences. Lend them your support you won't need it just prop yourselves up near the Bar. What is it with these information threads! Why the need to be negative! Look we are sympathetic! Honest!
We understand! Your boat sank in the Pacific Ocean! Your Dog Died on the remote desert island and you had to eat it. If you are not rescued soon you will have to eat your socks as well. Save the lame excuses! Get a taxi! We do understand we will help! All you have to do is send money for beer a request for your song or tune and we will sing and or play it and drink the beer for you. It's not a problem. Let's us try and cheer you up! However bad you are feeling now about not being able to go. It's not a patch on how you will be feeling when we all tell you what a great weekend we all had. Cancel what ever it is and get there Feb the 14th is the date for a mini Mudcat gathering at the Watering Hole, in Guisborough.

All are welcome, indoor camping spaces will be made available.
Come sing, drink and be merry!!

Have a lovely time and sing one for me.

I always wondered why there were sometimes messages without anything in them. Having just pressed the wrong button I now know how it is done. Anyway the other love of my life..........Sheffield United F.C have been drawn at home in the F.A.Cup - good news - and will play Sunday - even better news.

I'll shall therfore be at the gathering with the opportunity to make wise investments in carefully preserved pre-owned books relating to folk and folklore. I have just purchased a selection of material on Yorkshire so that will be the particular focus this weekend.

Regards,

Dave
