Our band, the Birch Road String Band, has been playing bonaparts retreat for 3 years now and we still sing the only verse we know over twice. I would like to get a couple new verses. Anybody know any.

Hi, Jeff - go to the search box in the upper-right corner and search under bonapart* (the "wild card" asterisk will let you find any words beginning with "bonapart," and there may be a variety of endings). You'll find at least a few new verses, and maybe somebody will post more here. If the verse you know isn't in our database, be sure to post it.

You may be thinking of The Battle of New Orleans
where Jimmie Driftwood used: The 8th of January

I'm not sure but I think "The Eqghth of January" is a completely different song from "Bonapart's Retreat"
