Great evening last night!

Cloudstreet were excellent. Ranged from spellbinding to hilarious.

Choruses were good too.

Well done Cllr, will definitely come again.

I have their cd - Violet Sarah & Muckle John - and I enjoyed listening to it.

They do a very good version of The Briar & The Rose.

and to have Nicole sing 'Caledonia' with guru later with Tam'r in the bar was a bonus.
Its always worth hanging on for the after-hours session with the landlady , she's most hospitable, unless you have to get up early to go to work.!!
I'm pleased to say they are booked for St Albans Fri28th May, but more of that later.
Now whoseon this week?
Sfe Journey John and Nicole to celtic Coonections in Glasgow.

Just in case John and Nicole see this thread - hello from Sydney, Oz. I have both your CD's from one time you played at Almost Acoustic. My personal favourites were "The Green Man" and "The Shape of Things", which I remember from a long time ago. Did you do these ones?

BTW John, we (John Warner and I) have spent quite a bit of time lately around your mate Martin Pearson. He was on at Almost Acoustic in December, and he came to a BBQ at our place the next day. The guy never stops being funny, even tho he is choosing to sing some serious stuff these days. And then of course there was Woodford - hot as usual, but amazing and exciting, and late nights at the Troubador.

Jenny (hoping you're homesick)

Yes, that is JW of Anderson's Coast.

I was notified last summer that Warner and Walters would be touring Britain this summer, but now it seems that Margaret will be coming by herself, from 9 June to 9 August. Any clubs interested in booking an unaccompanied singer at a club who like learning new choruses, please PM me.

Who was that Santa, pretending to be me? Love Santa. By the way Martin Dent asked me to tell you that he went to see Cloudstreet on Tuesday and thought they were very good. Do not forget Uncle Bob's Birthday Bash tonight at The Cricketers in Redbourn Herts.

I could get confused pretty easily here.

However, I don't know Martin Dent (though he clearly has good taste) and I'm nowhere near Redbourn. Thanks for the invite, anyway.

Tonight at Almost Acoustic, the Fagans + Kate Fagan did a lovely version of "The Briar and the Rose".

Yes, that is the same JW, breezy, but I'm afraid there aren't any trips to the UK planned for the near future - too expensive to think about at the moment.

Actually I'm on John's computer right now, because mine had some sort of heart attack. Everything froze and it wouldn't even turn off. When I spoke to my son, he said I'd have to pull the plug as a last resort. The computer is not very old and has all sorts of safeguards to recover from such drastic action. So I did, but it wouldn't turn on again.

The power supply was okay, and my hard drive is okay. Most likely cause, one of his work colleagues seemed to think, was some sort of virus/trojan that has hit the motherboard, and now George is putting another one in. All will be well soon. He says he has it working and I'll have it back in the next couple of days.

We are probably getting broadband very soon, so we will both be connected. He seems very interested in Mudcat, so I think there will soon be two mudcatters in this household.

Jenny

Saw Cloudstreet last night ( 11th March ) at the White Hart Folk Club in Hythe. Very good. They opened with The Briar & The Rose so the evening was made for me then.

If you get the chance to see them , take it. Well worth it
