There's a song by Ira and Charles Louvin on a Lucy Kaplansky CD called The Angels Rejoiced Last Night - last verse is

The angels rejoiced in heaven last night
I heard my Daddy pray
"Dear God make it right."
He was smiling and singing
With tears in his eyes
While mother with the angels
Rejoiced last night

It is not a Carter Family song, but was written by Carter Stanley. That may be the source of the confusion. If you care to PM me with your email address, I will attempt to send you an MP3 file of the Stanley Brothers singing it [1.76 Mb].
