A bit of a long shot, this one, but here goes. About 30 years ago at a London gig I heard Mike Maran sing a song about how we tend to set up Gods. If I recall right, the first lines were something like:

In the beginning God made man
Then man invented Gods

I can't recall who wrote it and can't find it in DT; can any genius out there help?
