Tough lyrics to find. I did learn that the song was written by Cindy Walker and sung by many. I read Red Foley, Jack Lloyd, Hank Penny and Jack Stidmen with Kieth Coleman all did the song well.
Sorry I tried.

I couldn't find the whole song, but here's an excerpt, transcribed from a sound sample found at Barnes & Noble

TATER PIE (western swing version)

SPOKEN: (Ah, pass me my pie, Pappy.—Yeah!—Let's go, guys!)

I'm lookin' for a gal that cooks.
I don't care much the way she looks.
I'll be hers until I die
If she can make a 'tater pie.

CHORUS: Pie, pie, 'tater pie,
P-I-E, E-I-P, pie, ...

[As sung by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys on "Boot Heel Drag: The MGM Years," Uptown/Universal 2-CD set 170206, 2001. The same verse is sung by Hank Penny on the anthology "Solid South: Western Swing on Los Angeles Radio 1950s," 2000.]

Incidentally, I also found a blues song called TATER PIE, which is also known as CUSTARD PIE or I WANT SOME OF YOUR PIE. I can't judge at this point whether it's related to the western swing song, so I posted it in its own thread: Click here.

OK. I have NO idea what version this is or even if it's the right song. However
check this site. I would suggest that people with pop-up protection do the checking. I tried to listen to it but something comes on the screen saying that because I'm not in the US of A I can't access it.

You know, it's very disheartening to go looking for lyrics that Jim hasn't been able to find.

Well, why not post them here?

TATER PIE

Ever since I've been so high
I've been a fool for 'tater pie
It makes no difference how I stuff
I never seem to get enough

CHORUS: Pie, pie, 'tater pie, P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
e-per, i-per, pass a piece a pie fer I just love that 'tater pie
I love 'tater pie P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
e-per, i-per, pass a piece a pie fer I just love that 'tater pie

I'm lookin' for a gal that cooks
I don't care much the way she looks
I'll be hers until I die
If she can make a 'tater pie

CHORUS: Pie, pie, 'tater pie, P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
e-per, i-per, pass a piece a pie fer I just love that 'tater pie
I love 'tater pie P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
Chocolate, cherry, boysenberry
Nothin's good as 'tater pie

Now after we have made the match
We'll raise a great big 'tater patch
And we'll just let the world go by
And live on love and 'tater pie

CHORUS: Pie, pie, 'tater pie, P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
e-per, i-per, pass me the pie fer I just love that 'tater pie
I love 'tater pie P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
Hold your 'tater, stay a little later
We'll all have some 'tater pie

Pie, pie, 'tater pie, P-I-E, E-I-P, pie,
e-per, i-per, pass me the pie fer I just love that 'tater pie
