I made the anouncement earlier this month. It was nice to see Fred and Julia last month and have some people share reminiscences of St Dom's parish.

Our next monthly traditional singing session at The Irish heritage Center located in the former Saint Dominic's Catholic Church will he held this Tuesday, February 3rd 2004 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.. The center is located on the corners of State Street and Danforth Street. The entrance is through the back door from the parking lot on Danforth Street.

Refresh
My schedule is tentative right now Brian. I will try. Is this mainly Gaelic music?

No. It is mainly a place for people to gather and enjoy singing and listening to songs, hopefully traditional. Garlic is only one ingredient. ;-) Some instrumentals manage to find their way in since I am dually diagnosed.

Let's get this back up to the top. I am hoping for a few more especially as my usual Sunday-afternoon session has been preempted by the Super Bowl.

Well, Brian, miLad; things could be worse.

This Super-Bowl Sunday was preempted by the funeral of the first girl I fell really hard in love with, some 40 years ago.

...Aahh; So THAT's what happens when I hit the "Tab" key?!

But anyway, that's another story...

The last (or perhaps it was the first?) one of these, I whimped out on, as

1.; It conflicts with my American Legion Meeting here in Yarmouth.

2.; My RAFG (Responsible Adult Female Guardian, AKA "Wife" knows Portland a lot better than I do, and assures me that I will probably get lost if I ever attempt to find the place, and accousted by the local barbarians if I do, as it is supposed to be a terribly "rough neighborhood" down that way.

3. It's a work night, and we are usually getting pretty tired/lazy after supper.

But I'd love to sit in on one of these some time.

Does the "Ceilidgh(?) House" group from Brunswick have anything to do with these? I signed up for their membership application at the concert in Brunswick a week ago Sat. and seem to recall getting something in the mail from 'em, but darned if I can find it now!

Have been rather slacking off on the music over the holidays, and miss it - want to get back on track!

Well, it seems that our old dilapidated computer finally rolled over and blew it's cookies... along with it's hard-drive partitions and a few other choice cyber-bits... so I'm a "Guest" till we get that fixed.

Currently on a somewhat less antiquated system a Friend & PC Wonk gadgetted up for us, but it may be a while before we get back up to speed, as some data was lost and registry mucked up a wee bit.

Golly gee, Cuilionn; I do love to listen to folks talk in that auld Scots dialect, and it's even kinda pretty reading it!

About the only Scots Ancestor we can round up is James ADAMS, who came over on the HMS UNITY in 1651, having as a "Loyalist Scot" come out on the losing end of the unpleasantness at Dunbar the year before.

An indentured Servant to the Saugus Iron Works in Mass, he eventually earned his freedom and removed to Salem where he was apparently active is some charitable organization for expatriated Scots.

So there might be some genetic predisposition for my love of the sound of Pipes, and the dialect, and an odd abiding yearning to "go back" to a land I have never seen in my life - and probably never will.

So if I don't get down to Putland Town tomorrow (weather reports are not encouraging) hope to catch up & jam with some of the Celtic Music crowd hereabouts before we gets much older!

Keep us posted, eh?
