Subject: Kendall in hospital From: GUEST,kendall Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:28 PM I failed a stress test this am, so the doctor admitted me. A nurse shaved my naughty bits, abd they are going to stick a catheter up my femoral artery and taker pictures of my heart. I'll let you know what happens. |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: CapriUni Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:30 PM Eep! Sending you good, calming, de-stressing thoughts. At least you're well enough to post your own message. Let's keep it that way!! |

Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: GUEST,MMario Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:31 PM Kendall - this year is suppossed to be BETTER then last year. Remember? I've always wondered - do you fail a stress test because you get too stressed or not stressed enough? |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: wysiwyg Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:43 PM Who let THIS happen????????? Uh, oh-- stubble alert! ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Dani Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:44 PM Thinking of you today... Will they take care of that vertebrae problem while you're there ;) Dani |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Big Mick Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:45 PM You know, Cap'n, you are starting to piss me off. I recognize a dodge when I see one. YOu are just trying to get me to come and finish that friggin' sailing thingamabob that is in your yard. Allright, just cut the crap and get better. And you are in my prayers, good friend. All the best, Mick |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Catherine Jayne Date: 29 Jan 04 - 12:51 PM You and Liz in as many days! Make sure you rest and get well soon. Lots of Hugs and energy heading your way from accross the pond. Khatt |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Deckman Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:00 PM AHHHH SHIT!!!! For what's worth, this test is a piece of cake. And it's VERY accurate in terms of finding out what's going on. If you're a good boy, they'll even let you watch yourself on live T.V. CHEERS, Bob |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: KathWestra Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:02 PM Hey dear one, Why do they need a catheter and a camera? I can tell 'em what your heart looks like: big, and generous, and warm, and soft, and tender. Take good care of yourself so I can give you a huge hug in Belfast in a couple of weeks. You're in my thoughts. Keep us posted on what's going on. XO Kathy |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: MAG Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:04 PM Take good care, Kendall. Having a catheter up your artery sounds pretty stressful all by itself, to me :) |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Mrrzy Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:11 PM Yikes, but better the artery than other parts, I hear... take care, sweetie! |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Jeri Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:11 PM Doesn't anyone want to ask why they shaved his naughty bits when it's his heart they're checking and the catheter goes in his leg? Or maybe it's where his leg meets up with his naughty bits? As long as they didn't use a rusty razor! (And what WYS said about stubble... you'll be able to brush lint off the sofa when you sit on it naked.) All joking aside, I care about you, friend! I hope they find it's not that serious. Don't tell 'em too many stories or they'll keep you! |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: GUEST,Nancy King at work Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:12 PM Yikes, Kendall! You gotta stop scaring us! Good luck with the test, and its results, and whatever else you need good luck for. Hope to see you real soon! Love, Nancy |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: alanww Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:17 PM Hey, Kendall. Let's have none of that! Just you make sure that you can make it over the pond in April - and in blooming health! Our thoughts are with you! "Twas on one April morning ...!" Alan |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Micca Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:24 PM Tsk! Tsk! taake your eye off him for a minute and what does the silly bleeder do? gets admitted to hospital, for exactly what they done to Liz on Wednesday!!! she says "it feels like I have been playing Rugby, with me as the ball"!! get well soon Mate, and get out of there as soon as you can, full of Sick people , Hospitals |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Liz the Squeak Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:30 PM "AHHHH SHIT!!!! For what's worth, this test is a piece of cake." Oh yeah? Would that be the cake that's been left out in the rain? Because mine yesterday certainly didn't feel like any chocolate gateau I've ever had! Seriously, hope yours is no more painful than mine was, and less if possible, because I know what a big girls blouse you are. They shave the naughty bits because that's where the femoral vein can be easily accessed. It's a really weird feeling being able to watch your own heart beat knowing it's being controlled by the surgeon who is practically up to his elbows in your naughty bits. Oh and by the way, your naughty bits will be an interesting shade of purple tomorrow. I just know that as soon as the wound stops hurting, the stubble rash will start..... Guuuuuhhh! Oh and Kendall? Try and avoid going up stairs. Down is OK but up hurts like the very devil! LTS - she of Mohican Minge and Purple Pussy |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Kim C Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:33 PM I think he did it on purpose just so the nurse could shave the naughty bits. ;-) Hugs and Prayers! |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: saulgoldie Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:36 PM Get outta there as quickly as you can, Kendall. There're still too many more songs to play! |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: John MacKenzie Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:43 PM Liz I really didn't need to know that! I now have this picture in my head, and it's not a pretty one, the picture I mean, we know the head is ugly and hirsuite. Hirsuites you sir!! John |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Áine Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:50 PM Hey now -- nobody shaves the naughty bits of my favorite Yankee without letting me take some pictures, dang it!! ;-) Holding a good thought for you, darlin' -- now take care and pass those tests with flying colors!! Luv ya, Áine |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Mark Clark Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:50 PM Too early to worry, Kendall. I failed one of these due to an irregular rhythm once. The doctor wouldn't even let me schedule an appointment for later. It was right to a room for prep and down to the OR. Nice drugs though <g>, and that nice warm feeling you get when the dye is released into your chest. It takes a few days for the entrance hole to fully seal but I got a picture to take home showing an almost total lack of any blockage. I hope you get a picture like that too. - Mark |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:53 PM Just got in contact with the Man, Kendall. He's on it now.. Jerry |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Morticia Date: 29 Jan 04 - 01:57 PM I dunno....you'll do anything for a bit of extra attention, won't you?I fully expect you to stop buggering about and present yourself here in April in full health....otherwise we will have to have words, and no, you won't be allowed any of them! Be well, my friend, thinking of you, xxxxx |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Stilly River Sage Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:03 PM Amazing--email from his hospital room. Sounds like good timing, Kendall, and a quick response from your doctor. Let's hope the test is the worst of it, that everything else is fine (did that come out right?). SRS |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Sorcha Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:10 PM Now you lissen up!! You are Not Allowed, I repeat, NOT ALLOWED to cancel the Yook Trip! I simply will not have it! Get all OK, Cap'n! |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: GUEST,Norton1 Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:26 PM My prayers are out to you - be well old friend Steve |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: EBarnacle Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:29 PM Best case is that the results were anomolous and they wanted to keep you safe. Go for that one. The test is a bit uncomfortable but the worst of it is that you have to lie still for hours to let the femoral puncture seal. As a New Englandah, you wouldn't be allergic to shellfish in the contrast medium, anyway. Think positive, which means negative results. Eric |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: GUEST,FORTUNATO Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:34 PM Hang in there, Kendall, here's wishing the best outcomes for you. chance |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: RichM Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:38 PM Ditto on wishing you the best, Kendall. Been there too, had angiogram, then angioplasty last November. Feeling much better now than before! Rich McCarthy |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Homeless Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:46 PM LTS said, "your naughty bits will be an interesting shade of purple tomorrow." So does that mean they're going to look like grapes? I guess this is what he does when he gets kicked out of someone else's oh-poor-me thread. G'luck, boss. |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: open mike Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:48 PM Some people will do anything to have a nurse give attention to their "naughty bits" -- Here's hoping for a good report and that you are able to continue all plans un-interrupted!! Laurel |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Mudlark Date: 29 Jan 04 - 02:58 PM Wishing you all the best, Kendall--no problems and a speedy recovery so you can go back to trip planning. |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Zany Mouse Date: 29 Jan 04 - 03:05 PM Hey Liz - where on earth did you have your angiogram done? I had one at Northwick Park Hospital after my heart attack. It was fine but embarrassing. No pain; no bruising. Didn't enjoy the Brillopad effect afterwards though! Good luck, Kendall, let us know what is happening. Rhiannon |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Bassic Date: 29 Jan 04 - 03:26 PM Ok buddy.......this is taking a joke just a bit far! I know last night in the Mudchat I didnt pick up on the "Airplane" feed line like a good staight man should.........timing was never my strong point..........but to get yourself admitted to the "big building with windows and patients" is taking things a bit far dont ya think!! *bg* Anyway............hope all turns out fine and dandy and if not, then at least they have picked up the problem early (thats why they do tests after all!) so lets hope they can get you sorted nice and quick. And a great incentive to get fit and well having already bought the flight tickets eh!! :-) The biggest of best wishes from your Mudchat friends in the UK (some I know are at work just now but send their best) and I might even have a "good luck" pint in your honour tonight! Gord |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Col K Date: 29 Jan 04 - 03:35 PM Hey Kendall, This is a bit early to use as an excuse not to escort Sorcha over here to visit us all. Seriously though, I hope that whatever caused you to fail the stress test is sorted out quickly so that you can pass the next one with an A-grade,and that you can remember what to do in future tests. Escape soon and take good care of yourself,I am looking foreward to seeing you over here this year. All the best Col |

Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Allan C. Date: 29 Jan 04 - 04:35 PM This is yet another typical example of your odd sense of fun, Kendall. I guess when the weather gets cold up there, folks run out of stuff to do. |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Dave the Gnome Date: 29 Jan 04 - 04:38 PM Just remember it is a damn site less scary than a car wash in Birmingham and you survived that OK! Good luck :D |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: sian, west wales Date: 29 Jan 04 - 04:42 PM ... very sorry yadda yadda ... get well yadda yadda ... etc. You know the drill. OK. That said, let's get down to the practicalities. We're gonna start a rota of Voluntary Scratchers; two lists, one for Liz and one for Kendall. Apologies Liz, but I'm gonna get my name down in the Kendall column. Let's get some names, recruits. sian |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Janie Date: 29 Jan 04 - 04:43 PM Like all of the above--thoughts and prayers--get out of there and across the pond! Love, Janie |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Duckboots Date: 29 Jan 04 - 04:50 PM Kendall, all the best from Rick and me. Hope you're up and about soon - it'll make a good story one day soon, I'm sure. All the best to you too Liz. My Dad had an angiogram which showed a blocked artery. The doctor told him that he could fix it now, through the leg, or he could wait six months for an old-fashioned op. Naturally, he opted to get it over with and they did the angioplasty. He was sedated but still awake and had it not been for other conditions that they needed to monitor he could have gone home right away. Amazing, isn't it? Heather |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: JudyB Date: 29 Jan 04 - 04:55 PM Kendall - Let's see ... you're going to have several interesting new pictures of yourself from a rather unusual perspective ... sounds like just the thing for an album cover (at least for one of your album covers - I don't know that you've ever done anything the way "other folks" do)! Now all you have to do is decide what the title will be and which stories you'll include.... Take care - we're thinking of you. Love, Judy B |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: DonMeixner Date: 29 Jan 04 - 05:03 PM Kendall, What ever the problem is they will find it, fix it, and you will be in-stently well again. Stay well. Don |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Helen Date: 29 Jan 04 - 05:11 PM Caring thoughts from me too, Kendall. My Dad failed a stress test and they sent him straight home to get his kit bag and he was back in the same afternoon and booked for the bypass op the next day. He's never been better since that op, so in a funny sort of way, maybe things are looking up and not down. Just remember about the wounded Oz soldiers who, when asked "Does it hurt?" replied, "Only when I laugh!" Irrepressible humour is the best medicine. And keep building up the storehouse for those funny stories of yours. Helen |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Joybell Date: 29 Jan 04 - 05:12 PM Good luck and happy thoughts. Joy |
Subject: RE: Kendall in hospital From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 29 Jan 04 - 05:14 PM Good luck. If you have to spend time in a hospital, I hope you find a nice laptop (computer that is). Keep us posted. |
