Actually Doug, I don't have to chase them. They feel sorry for me, so I just look pitiful and it brings out their mother instinct!
I do wish my daughter hadn't hidden my salt shaker...

Hey Kendall!

I haven't been on Mudcat for a spell so I missed your original posting. Hopefully, by now, you are recovering and will soon be able to chase women again. Do what the doctor tells you to do, go easy on the Guinness, lighten up on the salt, and reduce the carbs in your diet. You'll be fine.

going "Quack quack" like a duck in a shooting gallery - remarks like that could be considered unfair to Geoff the Duck and Mrs Duck.

Still hoping that alls going well with your recovery, Skipper.

Funny you should mention walking, Mary. He was just in chat, and freda and I were taking him for a very nice virtual walk around Sydney Harbour. Then something went weird and we all got booted out.

We'll be back maybe tomorrow to take you for another walk, Kendall. Meanwhile, don't hug too many wallabies :-)

Actually, Miss Phiddle, Kendall is under doctor's orders to exercise every day by walking. Since it is way too icy outside, he paces back and forth between the kitchen through the living room and into his bedroom going "Quack quack" like a duck in a shooting gallery. Every once in a while he about faces twice squawking as he goes just for the fun of it.
Eventually one of us will take a pot shot at him and he will start running. Not for at least a week.

I guess Kendall is busy around the house and doing yard work, not getting time to check in here and let everyone know that he's still on the mend (and is still patiently receiving all of the attention being showered upon him).

couldn't resist

Kendall,

It's time to think of your exercise program.

Let's begin with the Jackie Gleason Method.

Every more when you wake up you say "Up, Down, Up, Down!.......

Then you do the other eye.

(By the by, Dani, if the chickens get up any earlier than 6:30am I certainly don't care to make their acquaintance...)

Rest well, Kendall, my friend.
Chance

Kendall, you posted a couple times, and I can see both of them. Good drugs maybe? Still woozy? Glad to see there are mother figures hovering around you, even if they're really daughters and friends. DO get up once in a while, eh? Thinking about you here. I hope the pain fades quickly and that you'll eventually feel better than you did before the surgery.

Kendall .... you have to teach me how you do this. This pain thing is a load of aul shite and you know it. You have handled worse pain than anything that these Doc's threw at you. Shit, just have one nylon line snap on you and you will know pain. So I figger you just have this "Let's get these women to mother me, so's I can layabout on my arse all day" thing mastered. I am in awe, and demand that you teach me.

I am relieved to know you are home, Skipper, and I will call you in a day or two. Oh, and by the way, if you try to fight Mary with the winner keeping Seamus, I want to put $250 big ones on Mary.

Mick

Men are such wimps! Pain! My arse! No wonder women have babies.

Meantime, Seamus and I are cuddled up watching TV. He's not allowed on the furniture (Kendall's rules, not mine) so I made a nest for him on the floor next to me. I do like having this big smelly dog around. Wonder when Kendall will be strong enough to fight to get him back.

SINS, in mothering mode.
PS. Remember Kendall. No salt!!!!

Hey! Good to hear from ya! Glad you're out of there!

The problem with hospitals is that they stick you with needles, make you associate with sick people, feed you lousy food, and then charge you A LOT for those privileges.

Well, now don't you go runnin' back there, ya hear?

open mike, a couple of years ago some of the folks in the Northeast were talking about how ice dams build up on roofs, and when conditions are right, they allow water to back up behind them, in an uphill move, getting under the shingles. It's something that is cured by getting the ice off of the roof, and someone was talking about using rock salt in panty hose. Throw it up on the roof where it sits in the groove where the ice is and the salt will melt the ice, clearing out the dam.

Kendall, I'm pleased to see you online as brief as your appearance was today. We've never met, but I've followed enough stories and threads to know you're a keeper! Rest up and get well quickly.

do tell! more info needed here:
"bizarre New Englander contortions with panty hose and rock salt"
I'd like to know the story behind this!!
one of the fellers who often sings in the
pal talk room was born in that hospital!
and we are all so glad you have done your
time there and are heading for more familar quarters
where you can have more say-so over who shares
a room with you!
I have heard of rach salt and nails
but rock salt and panty hose is still a mystery.
If you got the Rose Tatoo rootin' for you-
you got a whole picket line full of Wobblies
out there on your side! Bound to help your case!

Isn't this the time of year when "ice dams" cause oddly placed leaks? Is there any snow on the roof that someone is going to get out to eliminate with some bizarre New Englander contortions with panty hose and rock salt? Let me lean back and imagine this task--sounds like a good job for a daughter or a son-in-law!

Good luck rescuing the electronic equipment from whatever the source of the leak--Kendall's likely going to need it while he's stuck close to home for a while.

Mend quickly, Kendall!
