Subject: Lyr Add: Lay Down Your Burden From: Genie Date: 04 Feb 04 - 04:26 PM I have a CD of Mary Black singing a song that has this chorus: Lay down the burden of your heart. I know you'll never miss it. Just tell me, angel, where it hurts And let your mama kiss it. I think the title of the song is "Lay Down Your Burden," and I have tried to find the song in the forum and the DT by using that title and by using the line "Lay down the burden of your heart," but I can't find it. I can transcribe the lyrics from the CD, but before I take time to do that, I thought I'd see if anyone already has them typed out. |

Subject: Lyr Add: LAY DOWN YOUR BURDEN (Jesse Winchester) From: Genie Date: 04 Feb 04 - 05:32 PM Thanks, MMario! Is it OK to post the lyrics here? Hope so. LAY DOWN YOUR BURDEN (Jesse Winchester) It's a cold old world that we're walking through. They ought to tell you at the start, But it's warm as toast walkin' two by two. Lay down the burden of your heart. Lay down the burden of your heart. I know you'll never miss it. Just show me, angel, where it hurts And let your mammy kiss it. It's a fine fine line between love and hate; It's hard to tell the two apart, But what strength I have I offer you. Lay down the burden of your heart. Lay down the burden of your heart. I know you'll never miss it. Just show me, angel, where it hurts And let your mammy kiss it. This song can be found on Mary Black's album "The Holy Ground" CD 1993 |
