Come join us for on line song and tune sharing tonite.
Go to www.paltalk.com - (there is a small, free, download)
after you sign on, go th GROUPS, scroll down to MUSIC,
click on adult and look for MUDCAT LIVE ACOUSTIC JAM.
If you have speakers and a microphone and sound card,
you can participate. If you do not have a mic, you can
listen in. Everyone is welcome to take a turn sharing.
There is a microph9one icon you can click on which will
request a turn at the mic. This will put your name on the
list and show a hand in front of your name.
I will open the jam room at 7 pm pacific time...
this time corresponds with 8 pm mountain time
and also will be at central 9 pm
and mud cat time (eastern)10 pm
for those on other continents, add or subtract accordingly!
We often have people from all around the world.
If you have any questions, p.m. me .
Thanks to Toledo Frank for showing me the "ropes"
and helping me to learn how to host a room there!
It has been a great way to meet and share music
with many new friends!

Sounds fun, Laurel. I'll try to make it next Thursday. Having trouble signing into Paltalk because I can't access the darned verification word for security. Sorting that out with Paltalk, and will show up with or without mic if possible!

I stopped by, open mike, but I didn't know anyone but you! The text chat was fast and nothing I knew anything about, so...I'll try again some other time. I hope more Mudcatters will come along, too. I don't have anything against lots of non-Mudders, etc. it's just kind of overwhelming when one hasn't been in there for a couple of years and not too many friendly faces show up.:-)

Hey all, I had a great time listening to so many fine players tonight, and even got some help with some sound issues I've been struggling with. All of those preferences to choose from makes it hard to know just what boxes to click, but by the close of the evening's festivities I understand my sound quality actually improved, and I didn't sound bubbly any more. I'm so happy, I could write a song about it. ;0) Three cheers to Open Mike for hosting tonight and I hope to see(hear) you all there next Thursday. Support live music with your ears and keyboards (for the text chat portion).

Kat,

Open Mike has a good point...catters may be in the room under a pal name that you may not recognize. As far as the text goes, I hope you come and stay long enough to know what is being talked about...lots of times it is nothing and, if you are like me, you will find other things to do while listening in. I am sure that once you are used to it all again and familiar with the people, Pal would be a great place to offer up your wonderful singing and spoken word. Or just come and listen in. I can't say it is like the good old day, but, hey, what is?

Of course, my real reason for posting is because I have a version of Jelly Jelly Blues, and I know you would get a kick out of it. So please do come by. Now all I have to do is remember to show up....remembering sure gets harder these days.

i wear a hat in there...a hard hat , a cowboy hat, whatever it takes to maintain order, an inviting atmosphere and an acoustic haven!! (the room administrator has a "@" before toheir name to designate that they are
hosting the room....we call the "at" sign a "hat" - just a short lesson
on paltalk lingo...)

there is room for all--listeners are welcome...you can have a front row seat..and the refreshments are good too--drinks are on the house, and invariable some one shows up with gin to share...

the answer is tha paltalk is not accessible with "open" MAC
but with an emulator program you can--they are
working on that...the pal talk tech folks said..
I think some macs are ibm compatible
are they called super macs or something like that?
so guess you need an emu....an emu-lator?
maybe an ostrich will do?

Open Mike is doing a great job running a large room on paltalk. Have seen and heard some catters too - Jon Freeman, DaveO, Open Mike, Bill D stopped in, Micca, MAG, Bassic (may have a diff mudcat name), cet,,,now who did I miss. Anyway, nice to hear all of you after all this time.

I did not have to intervene to break up any skirmishes,
as most visitors were well behaved. We went on for well over 7 hours-
which is hard to believe! Many folks performed original music, and
a good time was had by all. I do intend to be there next thursday,
same cat time, same cat station -- Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise..or power outages, or avalanches, or ice on the phone lines, etc.
when the room closed at nearly 2 a.m. i went back to mudcat to announce that we had closed, but could not get back on. and as always thanks to
frank for being my mentor!

closed now...actually been closed for a while...
it got to where i was the only one singing or
playing and 4-5 listeners...but no more performers
so i decided to close down...it was fun while it lasted.
