Call it FangMy rabbits have all been named after characters from Star Trek - hence we currently have Bones (the Mum of the litter) Wesley and Seven of Nine. We previously had Geordie (born totally blind but a beautiful and friendly character) Scotty and the odd one out Patch so called becuase of his colour. All from the same litter despite the experts saying they would never get on together. (all over 5 yrs old) |

Subject: RE: BS good name for hamster From: JennyO Date: 08 Feb 04 - 07:58 AM How about ,.gargoyl;e (has to be spelt right, of course) I was having a deep and meaningful talk with Himself over dinner tonight, and the conversation led (as it does) to the topic "What would you call your hamster?" . Well he was deep in thought for a while, then he said "Is it male or female?" I said "You know, I have no idea. Does it matter?" He said, "I have always thought when I looked at hamsters' faces that they are rather serious, intellectual little creatures, so I think they should have a name that befits that - you know, ancient Roman, or Greek, or something". Then he started to write a list of names, and here are some of them: Euphrastus Aloysius Ignatius Columbanus Euripides} \ the tailors Eumenides}/ Socrates Sacheverall \ after Edith Sitwell's Osbert / brothers and here are a few of mine in the same vein: Aristocles Tiberius Damocles Abelard Cornelius Achilles Abundiantus (yes, this does exist, it is Latin for plentiful) Absolom As you can see, this important subject has been taken very seriously and has provoked much thought and soul-searching. Or else we really need to get a life :-) |
Subject: RE: BS good name for hamster From: GUEST,Crystal Date: 08 Feb 04 - 07:54 AM I used to name my hamsters after my favourite book/tv characters. Of course they all ended up being called either "stinky" or "Evil Deamonic hamster of satan" after a few weeks. Both names were highly apt! |

Subject: RE: BS good name for hamster From: Bo Vandenberg Date: 07 Feb 04 - 09:58 PM I think a hamster somewhere should be names 'wolf'. One syllable name so that when you call him and he doesn't respond you havent wasted so much breath :). Seriously if you are looking for a new hamster check his feet for bumps and make sure he doesnt have any strange ones. Keep his bedding dry and clean. They get some sort of affliction from fouled bedding. |
