I heard an interesting report today on National Public Radio called Jenny Toomey, Rocking the FCC.

It's about Jenny Toomey, a musician, activist, and advocate for independent musicians. She is particularly concerned with the problem of getting radio stations to play the music of local independent musicians.

She is currently Executive Director of the Future of Music Coalition, "a not-for-profit collaboration between members of the music, technology, public policy and intellectual property law communities [which] seeks to educate the media, policymakers, and the public about music / technology issues...."

She also wrote An Introductory Mechanic's Guide to Putting Out Records, Cassettes and CDs.

...all of which seems it would be of interest to many Mudcatters.
