His songbook 'Aiming for the heart' (published 1988 by Heupferd Musik Verlag) has chords to all songs Irvine did sing up to 1988.

ISBN 3-923445-01-6

Hi, Kieron

go to my website: George Papavgeris website
click on "albums"
click on the image of the "Countryside Like This" album, to see the tracklist
Click on the headphones next to the entry for Empty Handed.
That will get you an MP3 of the original version of the song (it's 4 to 5 MB...)

Tomorrow I'm off to Dublin to see Planxty at Vicar Street in the evening, care of a couple of complimentary tickets from Andy, bless him! I know he practiced the song with Planxty, and I kind of hope they might sing it on the night (in which case bring on the paper hankies for me!). Then again, they might not do it. I don't care, it's just nice to see Planxty and spend one day in Dublin...

Andy does not play chords. You're on your own!

Cheers,
Michael

Hi,

good luck to your endeavour.

Do you know his official website?: click

And: A good start for chords is his songbook "Aiming for the heart" (I don't have it here, but I think I recollect it comes including the music)

I have just set up a fan site for Andy Irvine, at www.chinatogalway.com
I can see many song words here but does anyone have chords to them, as I would like to add them to my TAB section.
I also would really like to hear from anyone with their Andy Irvine stories, photos etc.

Thanks for any help,
china_to_galway@yahoo.co.uk
