Subject: Open Mikes/singarounds in NYC ?
From: Murray MacLeod
Date: 19 Feb 04 - 07:45 AM

A singer whom I occasionally accompany is in New York City tonight through to Monday, and would like to know of any singarounds or open mikes taking place during this period, (preferably where traditional singing would be welcomed.)

All help gratefully received.

There is an open mike on Sunday nights at the C-note (corner of Ave C and 10) that turns into a blues jam afterwards. It a lot of singer-songwriters, though everyone is generally cool with all kinds of stuff. I like the people. It's a small place and very easy-going.

...And if nothing else looks good on Saturday night...I'm playing at a place called the Muddy Cup on Statin Island at 8pm. You can take the ferry over (a fun ride), a short busride to Madolin Brothers where you can spend all afternoon (until 6) playing their wonderful instruments...head accross the street to the pub for dinner and then enjoy the show at 8....just a thought!
