The multi-ply binding on one of my guitars is delaminating at the waist bend of the guitar. Instead of being b-w-b-w-b it's b-w-b-air-w-b. It's not a serious problem and the repair should just be a matter of brushing a little glue into the crack and securing with masking tape until it dries. I just don't know what particlular plastic such binding material is usually made of, so I don't know what glue would be best to use. I'm mainly concerned that an incompatible glue might melt the binding instead of gluing it. Anybody have any specific suggestions?

Bruce

You don't need to do any extensive research. The glue you need is "Duco" , which does indeed melt the cellulose (which is what your binding is made of) but that is a necessary part of the gluing process.
