Subject: Want to know who has recorded some songs From: Grace Note Date: 20 Feb 04 - 09:43 PM I run a folksong library, so I'm not used to needing this kind of information. I am working on a project to help K-12 teachers use folk songs to teach American history. I need to find available recordings of a list of songs. I have most of these in my library (New Song Library), but they are on LPs; not much help to the teachers. I'm hoping there are places on the web where I can do a search on a song title and find available recordings. I know this isn't the usual use of Mudcat, but I thought you web-savvy people might know. |

Subject: RE: Want to know who has recorded some songs From: open mike Date: 20 Feb 04 - 10:20 PM I know that jimmy driftwood wrote a song to be used as a history lesson. In 1812, the British Kept a-Comin', because he thought students would remember it better if it was sung. I hope i remembered the date right! |
