Was looking these lyrics up tonight anyway and thought Mudcat should have a copy

When this desert is sullied and gray
When cook fire burns low, tired and weary I'll know
That dawn cannot be far away.

Chorus:
And I'll wait (ride) with my songs, in my saddle;
It's a hot, dusty world way out there,
And a damn lonesome life punchin' cattle
Makes me live for the moments when dawn will be there.

When the trail boss gets rough and the going gets tough,
And the noon sun is too hot to bear
