Can anyone tell med who Sir Philip McHugh was? O´Neill´s collection has a tune of this name. The melody is very close to the song "Rince Philip A´Cheoil", so I assume it´s the same Philip. Any takers? Tim

Could it be "Feach MacHugh O'Byrne (c1544 - 1597) who was the leader of the O'Byrnes after 1580. Check out the song "Follow Me Up to Carlow".

Perhaps Philip McHugh O'Rielly, from the 1641?

:-)
