Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Slim Dusty-One Hell Of a Party From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Feb 04 - 09:37 AM According to the official Slim Dusty discography, the song title is MUST'VE BEEN A HELL OF A PARTY, and it was on the album "91 over 50," released 1996. It was written by Slim Dusty & Tom Oliver. Slim Dusty and his songs aren't well known in the US. I'd love to hear this, or at least see the words. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Slim Dusty-One Hell Of a Party From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 25 Feb 04 - 07:58 PM There is a series of Songbooks - oficial - that contain much if not most of the Slim Dusty stuff - I think they are a fairly recent release - may not be listed with US booksops - search for them on any good Aussie music shop site... Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Slim Dusty-One Hell Of a Party From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 27 Feb 04 - 07:04 PM The Official Slim Dusty Web Site is promoting his last unfinished CD, there is currently a list of all currently available Cd's - a full historical playlist will be up soon. The Slim Dusty Centre project is an exciting initiative, which will be a fitting tribute to celebrate and commemorate Australian Icon and Country Music legend, Slim Dusty AO MBE, in his birthplace of Kempsey, New South Wales. The Slim Dusty Centre will be a museum and cultural centre, depicting the life and achievements of Slim and the way in which his music has reflected the changing face of Australia. It will indeed be a journey through the heart and soul of Australia. In addition to the museum that will safely house the treasured memorabilia for the enjoyment and education of future generations, the Centre will also feature a gallery and conference facility, dining area, retail section and an outdoor concert facility that will accommodate up to 2000 people. There's a zillion links off these sites as well, for the real fans.... I didn't fully explore these sites, one of them may have his songbooks, or you may suggest to one of them that they might wish to carry them. Robin |
