The Red Shed (the labour club on vicarage street in Wakefield) is having an open mike session tonight. We have a open mike do on the last Saturday of each month and all are welcome.
If you can play it,mfetch it. If you sing it' do it.
I hope to see some new faces down there

Unfortunatelt the Ducks are seldom in a position where we can get out on a Saturday Night. I would love the opportunity to get to the Red Shed, as I've not been ther since Wakefield CAMRA Christmas Party about three years back.
To anyone who doesn't know the place, it is well worth visiting. The beer is usually Excellent and Cheap.
I used to enjoy my visits to the club back in the days when I edited Tyke Taverner for Bradford Branch of CAMRA.
Best of luck with the Folkie things, please keep posting the information here, and we might manage to get there some time.
Quack!
Geoff the Duck.

Andy, a couple of questions:-

1) Is it truly an open-mic (i.e. do you use a p.a.)?
2) How would I find it (coming from the dreaded A1 heading North from Bawtry)?

Can't come tonight but maybe next time.
Johnny :0)

How to find the red shed is simple enough, you follow the signs for the market and park in the market car park. Then look across the road down to the bottom of the hill, and you will see a red shed (I kid you not.) And there is a p.a.
Now for the crunch, were double booked next month so there will be no open mike, so to make up for this I think were doing a double open mike in April, and from then on, with a bit of luck, we will be back to normal but Ill keep you in the know just in case.
Are you going to the Selby doing Geoff?
Andy.
