I went to see Northern Harmony at The Electric Palace in Harwich UK last evening, what a wonderful evening! They are on tour in England for a few weeks more and I would say " go see them" a more talented group of young people would be difficalt to find. The pleasure they give is enormous and the joy in their faces while they sing is terrific.Look on their website for details of the tour!

That's Our Larry.

I've had the pleasure of singing with Larry in Baily Hazen, a Sacred Harp group, and in Onion River Chorus, the community chorus in Montpelier. The thing to watch for are the Village Harmony camps. There's a Village Harmony website out there, and the camps (for young folks, adults and mixes of the two) are amazing. I've had the pleasure of participating in, and cooking for two camps, and they are great experiences. I highly recommend taking a slice out of your summer. The leaders of the camps, Matla from South Africa, Alan Gasser and Becca Whitla from Toronto who know Georgian music and other great mixed choral stuff, Mary Kay Brass (who knows her Balkan material) and Kate Howard from England who sings all kinds of stuff, and John Harrison who leads a kick ass gospel choir here in Montpelier. . . well you get the point, he's acumulated a lot fo great teachers and the camps are GREAT!

So have your own slice of that energy. It's great.

Susan

They are indeed incredible. I saw them in Harrisville, New Hampshire, last month. Northern Harmony brings "world traditional choral music" to new levels of musicianship.

I had the very great pleasure of seeing the New England singing group " Northern Harmony" last Thursday evening in a folk club in Haskayne ( a small village 10 miles from Liverpool, UK ). I trust this group of singers are well known in the States because they were fabulous. Apart from the core "shape note" material, they performed songs from Bulgaria, Georgia ( ex- USSR), and South Africa. It was the most stimulating musical evening I've experienced in ages. Wonderful stuff!

p.s. Larry Gordon is the leader and founder of the group.
