Seat belts - I think it was a question of economics. The cardboard scenery and those wigs just bust the budget.

I'm actually a great Star Trek fan - just couldn't cope with Shatner.

Shilo - you can do italics by putting an 'i' within these thingies: < > So it's like this (without the spaces) < i > To "turn off" the italics just add one of these thingies / in the second set. Like this:

< i > everyone < / i >

And for the record - take me off the danged list: I am a huge fan of Shatner.

odd that compassion ashould be mentioned in regard to dogs and shatner. bill reminds me of some of the more pitiful specimens of dogs at times - he has a few feeble tricks he learned in his (long past) youth that he repats hopelessly over and over in the hopes of gaining a few dregs of attention from his audience.

I like cats but don't have any. My wife came with parrots upon our marriage. It's not because she's afraid for the parrots, quite the contrary, the parrots would torment and abuse the cats.

I do have Corgies. One of them is very cat like in her mannerisms.

Jacqui: what's the matter? Don't you like Shatner's Turbo 2000 hairpiece? No animals suffered during the production of that piece.
Of course he makes us all suffer while he wares it (and I am a Shatner fan mind you). On a similar vein I thought I might start a class action lawsuit against Michael Jackson for mental cruelty for everytime he appears in public without the mask. Any takers?

Welcome to Mudcat. I've only been around for a few months but have developed an addiction to the site in no time flat. It's like having friends all around the world.

Mind you, it gets a bit worrying with the likes of Little Hawk and his passion for Shatner. And he looks so normal in his photo! LH - how about going for a much better Canadian - the great Donald Sutherland - that man can actually act and doesn't submit little furry animals to the indignity of sitting on his head.

But many liberals love dogs too. For my interpretation it's a COMPASSION thing. To really like a cat, you have to have compassion. It's important fora really good relationship with a dog, as well, though dogs have such deep conditioning that if a person feeds it and gives it a comfortable place to sleep, the dog's pretty satisfied. With those 2 things a cat may acknowledge your existence, but they won't have any real connection because they desire more than food and a bed.

My mate has a cat, called Sebastien, who will just sit and stare at him through a candle flame for ages, it's quite eerie.

Cats are distinctly different!
Someone postulated that to tell a conservative from a liberal throw a cat in the room.
I asked around. All of my republican friends don't like cats. All of my democrat friends do. Odd thing. One of the conservatives told me it's because cats are very much their own person and they can't stand that the cat makes up its own mind. Is that a stereotype for conservatives? Come when you're called? Show us you love us with your donations? DOn't think just give us unconditional love and guard the congress and whitehouse from those heathen liberal cats?

Went to a antebellum mansion over the weekend. The tour guide says the place might be haunted. I did my best to introduce myself to the cat population that lives there.
