42, disabuse yourself of the notion that life is hard, and we are all ragged but defiant survivors. It's a common and flawed assumption in the hallowed halls of folk music, and it's one not worth clinging to. Fred Eaglesmith, for example, just spent an entire album putting forth that gaunt and ragged survivor message...the album sounds great, but I don't buy it.

Life is actually magnificent, beautiful, wonderful, and we are all angels undergoing apprenticeship and preparing for graduation into far greater things. Our aging bodies mislead us as to the real nature of the journey we are on.
