They're all on a 9 CD collection: American Pop: An Audio History. The recordings go from Mama's Black Baby Boy by the Unique Quartette, 1893 to Lennie Tristano, What Is This Thing Called Love?, 1946. The original recordings are lovingly restored, and this is only a very, very small sample of what's in the set. It's a great set, too, because they don't just have the "hits" or most commonly included songs in Anthologies. There's a lot of are stuff here. The boxed set is put out by West Hill Audio Archives and is avialable at the best price at half.com. If your pleasures know no boundaries, this is a fantastic set! Jerry |
