I understand that "Acoustic Guitar" mag ran a feature on Nick Jones a few years ago which included a transcription of "Canadee-i -o". I've written to the mag asking about back issues but never received a reply. I would be very grateful if somebody out there could supply me with a copy of the article.

It's Nic Jones, btw.

I don't know about the magazine I'm afraid, but one interpretation can be found here

Thanks for the tip. But the transcription that's floating around on the web isn't very accurate; indeed, the chap who did it has admitted that when he saw the transcription in "Acoustic Guitar", he realised how flawed his own attempt was.

p.s. Surely there's someone out there with a copy of the mag!

I have it somewhere... what I don't have is a lot of time to look for it!

I'll see what I can do...

Cheers,
Michael

NicK Jones plays piano box. I am hoping somebody will come up with old photos of Nic (no K) at Brentwood or Chelmsford for the web site.

from www.acousticguitar.com:

Canadee-I-O, Music by Nic Jones
Cover Date: November 2000, #95
Description: Profile of English folk guitarist Nic Jones and transcription of "Canadee-I-O"
Author: Dylan Schorer
Department: OFF THE RECORD
    Song:Canadee-I-O
    Composer: Nic Jones
    Performer: Nic Jones

If you search back issues and specify Nic Jones as a keyword you'll get the above result. From there you can purchase the issue from them...

Hope this helps,
-Greg

Joe, are you any relation to Dave Moran who played in the Halliard with Nic?
