Sorry Ian, just realised that i said "didnt fail to dissapoint" above - I actually meant quite the opposite. I was so excited by seeing you and how good you were that i obviously lost the ability to spell and get the correct order of words out. Thinking about it, i think i actually lost the ability to speak for a few days after seeing you too as i was was just so amazed by the night. Can't wait to see you again :)

Just got back from seeing Ian play at Newhampton as per above message left and he was absolutley FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!! as always. I had nOt seen him for 10 years and he didnt fail to disappoint. He was SPECTACULAR. It was so good to see him again after all this time. He played for half an hour support Fret and Fiddle Jazz band who were also AWESOME ! He threw in the old Lord Franklin tune to start the set to my delight as it is my favourite tine off Gidgifu. WELL DONE IAN. Great to see you again. Have missed you loads. Hope to see you again soon. I am Ian Pittaway, formerly Ian Harvey-Pittaway. I'm chuffed to read these nice things said about me. Three or four years ago I was on the way to considering going full time with the music. I didn't for a lot of reasons, which I won't go into here, but they included the precariousness both of not knowing if I would earn enough, partly due to my aptitude for picking up lots of bugs in the winter. I've now taken up the cittern, mandolin and lute (as well as my previous guitars) and am gigging infrequently. I am appearing soon at Rushwick village hall, Worcester, as a guest of Food and Folk, on 11 September. It would be lovely to see any of you there. Please introduce yourself to me if you go. I have his CD "Godifu" which according to the blurb was recorded at the Shakespeare Studios, Lichfield. We have seen him at the Lichfield FF on a few occasions. The blurb lists in the credits the Black Diamond Folk Club, Birmingham and Common Folk, Pelsall. Someone there may be able to lead you to him. I am sorry that I can't be more help as I think he has a fantastic voice and outlook on the songs he sings.

A couple of years ago at Baggeridge Festival I had the pleasure of seeing Ian Harvey Pittaway play. Being a bit strapped for cash I didn't pick up a cd, assuming I'd see him elsewhere. Typically I've heard nothing from or about him since which is a pity because he was brilliant. google's got nothing on him. Can anyone enlighten me?
