Finally released in the UK on CD after a 39 year gap. I have it on vinyl (signed after he stayed the night in late 65) but it has been played to death since and is simply unplayable now.

so, I'm really glad to see it released on CD at last. It came out yesterday and is available in HMV for £6.99.

Tracks are all mono, apparently recorded in three sessions and include two alternate versions as bonuses to the original LP.

If you like Paul Simon songs and want to hear them before they were "sweetened" for S&G release then buy it now.

I gave my vinyl away as a raffle prize long ago.

I think I might buy it back as a Cd, seems very good value.

All recorded using one guitar (six or twelve string) and one voice with some "percussion" in the form of foot stamping whilst playing.

We do book bands in the function room,for charity nights, turn up and find out more. Oh I get it can I call you ALI? I've got a Paul Simon complete book so old it does not have The Graceland or Hearts and Bones songs in it. ( I did'nt like either of those albums much anyway ) What is your favorite and least favorite album?

I've got Live in Central Park double album, very good. And Hearts and Bones, not very good. And I did have The Best of Simon and Garfunkle (1975-80) but I lost that, that was my dad's, so I grew up with it. It was also how I got into Paul Simon in the fist place.

I don't think this album has never been available here in the States. Whenever an old copy comes up on eBay it goes for $30 and more, so I'm delighted to hear it's commercially available once again.

Im from Belfast and heard the song about a year ago at a session and really liked it. I've never been able to get the full lyrics of the song anywhere on the Internet. Just got the "Songbook" in HMV in Glasgow this morning: first time I've heard it since 1966! Ah, memories!

This is great news. 'The Paul Simon Song Book' was the second tape I ever bought (first was 'Teaser and the Firecat')and contains two of my favourite songs, Kathy's song and 'On the side of a hill', both of which I still play. I still have the tape but it's almost unplayable so this has just gone to the top of the shopping list. Nice to see it's not a rip-off price. Will be interesting to see how it sells. I though that "plated out" was some technical term of which I was not aware.

Ah well, I travelled to Leeds and back yesterday playing this CD and Dylan's "Blond on Blonde" in the car - both great.
