Mike Nicholson will be appearing at the Waltham Abbey Folk Club this Monday, 29th March.

Mike has a wonderful 'velvet' voice, a good fan base.

The Waltham Abbey Club meets every Monday at 8:30 p.m. at the Royal British Legion, Brooker Street, Waltham Abbey. A warm welcome is extended to singers, musicians, poets, storytellers and audience.

For enquiries, please telephone me on 01920 870558.

Hope to see you there

Lynne Heraud

Thank you for the reminder Lynne, I have promised myself that I must get along and hear this Mike Nicholson since hearing Kitty Vernon sing one of his songs.

Apologies to the Herga Club for non attendance, but research demands.

Lynne - why do you remain a GUEST on mudcat and only seem to post on it to advertise the club (which Linda and I must try and get to again sometime) ?   Become a member - it's free and very easy to do.

Dear Dave

I suppose I'm frightened of becoming an 'anorak'! To tell you the truth, I've never really looked at HOW to join. Perhaps I will. I'll have to think up a suitable name.

Why don't you and Linda come on Monday?

Lynne

Lynne, you don't need a suitable name just use your own. Although I'm prepared to do a straw poll at theOld Rose and Crown tonight and come up with a name for you :-)

Wont be up Monday as he is down our way soon as well . Have a good evening.

And whar Dave B says is true - Use your own name like I do :-

We'd love to come over again sometime, Lynne, but Linda has a 15 year old son, and we tend to go out on nights when he stays with his dad and these are usually Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. At one time Tom's dad was always busy on a Monday, but I think that this may not be the case anymore - it will take some sorting out in advance though.

"I suppose I'm frightened of becoming an 'anorak'!"
I could never imagine you being one of those Lynne - although you'd be welcome to keep me warm any time you liked !   Just look through some of the other threads - I don't think you really apply that description to most of them.

To join Mudcat all you've got to do is click on Membership - 3rd from the right at the top of the mudcat page, and fill in a simple form. You will then get a "cookie" set up on your PC which means that every time you log in Mudcat knows who you are. If this stops working (or you're using another PC), it's very easy to set it up again by using the Login option from the Quick Links dropdown menu just below the Membership option.

Come on in, Lynne! You'll find more friends here than you think!

I look forward to reading your "plug" for my gig at Waltham Abbey on April 26th! Does that count as a "preplug"?

Hope to be there on Monday for Mike's gig as well.

Alan

Well, I've joined. I shall go out and buy suitable clothing tomorrow.

Alan - I'll definitely be doing a plug for your gig.

Lynne - The first thing you need is a Mudcat Teeshirt and Badge.

PM Bill Sables about the Shirt and Tig or Badger about the badge.

Then you must come to one of the gatherings

Do go and listen to Mike...you will not regret it. What am I saying - you should regret it if you don't go!

Correct apparel for a Mudcatter?

A baldric?
A pair of wellies?
A hair shirt?

NO - a Mudcat Tee-shirt! As worn by myself, though they do make them smaller for svelte young ladies such as yourself.

Welcome aboard, Lynne.

Alan

I hope that was painless Lynne.

Somehow 'Builders Bum' would have been worth a laugh as a name.

OK El G will do, purely in the cause of research you understand.

May I borrow yor anorak please, I dont have one of my own any more?

The fire is on tonight!

Come early and enjoy.

We kick off about 8.30 British Summertime. Bring a song, tune, poem or story, as everyone gets a go, even on a guest night.

Simon
