Does anyone have any information on this Carter Family song? Specifically, I'm trying to learn whether it predates the Carters, or is actually their composition. The only "recent" recording I can find is my own, on An Album of Songs (Bay, 1976), which is about to be reissued. I would appreciate any information anyone has. Thanks!

We don't seem to have the lyrics posted anywhere at Mudcat. Jane, would you please post them? I got this much from a sound sample:

"I've rambled round from town to town
Now it's time that I settle down
I've had my fill of..."

Meanwhile, I'll keep looking.
