MOZAIK USA Tour underway

MOZAIK, Andy's pan-cultural string band has just hit the road in the

The new CD is slated for general release on April 6 on Compass Records
label, but you can get it at any of the gigs on their tour, or you can

Since Andy is English, I wonder why he is not performing any English folk songs?

GUEST, Penguin Egg,
You could argue then that the ones he has written himself are "English". Not that it matters, he is a performer with worldwide appeal, not for any latent "Irishness", but simply because he is so good. He sings at least one New Zealand and one Greek song as well. And this Greek admires him for what he does with it.

London born maybe but the son of a Scottish father and an irish mother I believe. The name is a bit of a giveaway on the paternal front. Not, as El Greko rightly states, that it matters one bit, he is a fine performer who follows his instincts.

Probably just some pointless trolling by PE so I shouldn't have followed up really.

Has anyone actually been to see Mosaik play. They have a fantastic line up Donal Lunny, Bruce Molsky, Andy Irvine, Nikola Parov, Rens van der Zalm. Although I think Tony McManus is standing in for Donal on this tour, a very fine musician too!

This is the first album from them, although they have toured together before. I hope this is the first of MANY ! I would probably say it is one of the most exciting bands for along while.
