I was in Ballyheigue long ago (1969) and thought it was odd that South Pacific had a song by the same name. Could that be the one? :>)

Andy Cooney recorded BALLYHEIGUE, described as traditional, on his album "Collection of Irish Hits," Rego Irish CD 3990, 1996. A sound sample at Barnes & Noble gives this:

Two men they met in a foreign land, in a land across the spray.
One of them left from Ballyheigue and landed there that day.
After shake-hands and a friendly drink, the other murmured low...
